Privacy
The German version of this privacy policy is the authoritative one; this translation is provided for convenience.
No cookies, no tracking, no analytics. Whatever data is still processed is described here.
1. Controller
The controller for data processing on this website within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:
Henning Falk
Stralsunder Str. 20b, 18445 Prohn, Germany
Phone: +49 178 71 29 409
Email: henning.falk030@gmail.com
2. What this website does not do
This is a static website without user accounts, comments or analytics. In concrete terms:
- No cookies are set and nothing is stored in your browser’s storage.
- There is no audience measurement and no tracking.
- No content is loaded from third-party servers: no Google Fonts, no CDN, no embedded videos or maps. The Inter typeface and all images are served from our own server.
- Only what you enter in the contact form and send is transmitted, see section 5.
- Links to LinkedIn, Instagram or other sites are plain links. Only when you click one do you leave this website, and the privacy policy of that provider applies.
Because no cookies are set and no third-party services are embedded, there is no consent banner either.
3. Hosting, domain and log files
The website runs on a virtual server of Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. The server is located in Nuremberg. Domain and name servers are hosted by ALL-INKL.COM, Neue Medien Münnich, owner René Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany. Data processing agreements under Art. 28 GDPR are in place with both providers.
The web server of this site keeps no access log. The usual server log files with IP address, time, requested file, amount of data transferred, browser, operating system and referring page are not written and therefore neither stored nor analysed.
Technical messages of the web server, such as aborted connections or errors, are logged when they occur. They contain no continuous visitor log and are discarded with every update of the website, usually after a few days to weeks. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; the legitimate interest lies in technically sound and secure operation.
Independently of this, Hetzner as the infrastructure operator processes connection data for its own operation and to defend against attacks. Hetzner’s privacy policy applies to that.
4. Contact by email or phone
If you contact me by email or phone, your details are processed to handle the enquiry and possible follow-up questions. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where the enquiry relates to entering into or performing a contract, otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR based on the legitimate interest in answering. The data is deleted once the enquiry has been dealt with and no statutory retention obligations apply.
Emails to info@seemarke.com, the contact address on the website, are received and stored via Microsoft 365 of Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, One Microsoft Place, South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18, Ireland. Microsoft processes the data within Europe; access by group companies in third countries, in particular the USA, cannot be ruled out. This is based on Microsoft’s Data Protection Addendum and the standard contractual clauses it contains under Art. 46 (2) (c) GDPR.
Emails to the address given in section 1 are received and stored via the Gmail service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. A transfer to Google LLC in the USA cannot be ruled out. It is based on the European Commission’s adequacy decision for the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, under which Google is certified, and on standard contractual clauses under Art. 46 (2) (c) GDPR.
5. Contact form
Which data is processed
- name, email address and message (required)
- company name and phone number (optional; the phone number is appended to the message)
- your consent, the time of receipt, the page language and the version of the consent text, as proof under Art. 7 (1) GDPR
Providing the data is voluntary. Without name, email address and message I cannot handle the enquiry, however. Your IP address is not stored.
Purpose and legal basis
The data is used solely to handle your enquiry and possible follow-up questions. The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, which you give explicitly in the form. Where the enquiry relates to entering into or performing a contract, Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR applies as well. The data is not passed on for advertising and not used for profiling.
Where the data goes
The form sends your details encrypted to the contact service of this website, which runs on the same server. There the details are stored in a database and additionally forwarded as an email to info@seemarke.com. Sending runs via Microsoft 365. Recipients are therefore Hetzner Online GmbH as the server operator and Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, One Microsoft Place, South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18, Ireland, each as a processor under Art. 28 GDPR.
Microsoft processes the data within Europe. Access by group companies in third countries, in particular the USA, cannot be ruled out. This is based on Microsoft’s Data Protection Addendum and the standard contractual clauses it contains under Art. 46 (2) (c) GDPR.
How long data is kept
The data is deleted once the enquiry has been dealt with, at the latest after six months. The database is backed up nightly on the same server; these backups are deleted after 30 days. Statutory retention periods, for example under commercial or tax law, remain unaffected.
Withdrawal
You can withdraw your consent at any time informally and with effect for the future, for example by email to the address above. The lawfulness of processing up to that point remains unaffected. After withdrawal the data is deleted unless a statutory retention obligation applies.
Protection against abuse
The form contains a field invisible to you that detects automated submissions, checks the time between opening the page and sending, and limits the number of messages per sender. For that limit the IP address is only held in memory as a non-reversible hash and discarded when the service restarts.
6. Editorial area
The area under /admin/ is used solely to maintain the content and is not intended for visitors. When it is opened, the Sveltia CMS editor is loaded from unpkg.com, a service of Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. Your IP address and technical connection data are transmitted to Cloudflare in the process. Sign-in takes place via GitLab (GitLab B.V., Netherlands, or GitLab Inc., USA). The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; the legitimate interest lies in maintaining the website. The public pages do not load anything from these services.
7. Encryption
The website uses TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the browser’s address bar starting with https://.
8. Your rights
You have the following rights towards the controller:
- access to the data processed (Art. 15 GDPR)
- rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
- erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
- restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- objection to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR)
- withdrawal of consent with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3) GDPR)
An informal message to the address above is sufficient to exercise them.
9. Right to lodge a complaint
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the member state of your habitual residence, place of work or place of the alleged infringement. The authority responsible for the controller is the Landesbeauftragter für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Schloss Schwerin, Lennéstraße 1, 19053 Schwerin, Germany, phone +49 385 59494-0, info@datenschutz-mv.de.
10. Changes
This privacy policy is updated whenever the website or the legal requirements change. The version published here applies. Last updated: October 2026.
